Grothouse Custom Wood Countertops are included in the 2014 House Beautiful Kitchen of the Year. The Kitchen will feature a dramatic black and white design, incorporating 650 sq. ft. with a main cooking space, a butler’s pantry and a sitting area with bay views. Grothouse crafted Peruvian Walnut wood countertops and matching custom engraved shelving units that enrich the space and add a dark organic element.
This marks the third Kitchen of the Year including Grothouse Custom Wood Surfaces. “It’s an honor to be included in another House Beautiful Kitchen of the Year,” stated owner Paul Grothouse. “House Beautiful is one of the well-respected publications in the design industry, so for us to be considered as a supplier and participant is phenomenal.”
The Kitchen of the Year is located inside the San Francisco Decorator Showcase at 3660 Jackson Street in San Francisco, and will be open to the public from April 26 – May 26 on Tuesdays through Sundays and Monday, Memorial Day.
The opening of America’s “dream kitchen” in San Francisco marks the first time that House Beautiful has brought its signature design showcase—which had previously taken residence in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza—to California. Now in its seventh year, the Kitchen of the Year is being designed by Steven Miller of San Francisco’s Steven Miller Design Studio, who will bring his passion for comfortable, livable and beautiful kitchens to the San Francisco Decorator Showcase.
