A customer-facing Delivery Driver within a 5-state area, including occasional overnight travel. This is a Part-Time/Occasional position requiring a varied and intermittent schedule Weekdays, per our delivery demands.

We are seeking a highly skilled finish carpenter who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys solving complex challenges, and wants to work with a team that is committed to producing exceptional work.

The Role

This is not production framing or basic trim work. We are looking for a career craftsman who appreciates precision, quality, and continuous learning. As our commercial work grows, the projects are getting more complex, and we need more depth on the bench.

This is a senior craftsman seat in our shop. You will work directly with the VP of Manufacturing and the owner, and you will handle the most technically demanding work in the building: field templating, custom door work, stairs, complex millwork, and onsite installation. You’ll bridge between our shop and our installation team, and you’ll be customer-facing on jobsites — professionalism matters as much as craft.

Pay

$32–$38/hour for a proven, well-rounded finish carpentry skillset. Up to $45/hour for a candidate who can run and lead projects end to end — templating, design input, resource planning, fabrication, and installation. Wage growth is based on contribution and skillset, not tenure.

What You Must Already Know (We Will Not Train These)

• Full command of woodworking equipment: planers, jointers, table saws, bandsaws, chop saws, circular saws, jig saws, and hand saws; routers, drills, drill presses, sanders, mortisers, and chisels.
• Hanging doors that are not pre-hung — building jambs, installing mortised hinges, and fitting locksets.
• Framing and installing stairs, including designing rise and run to meet code.
• Accurate field measurement and templating of existing and unfinished conditions for trim, doors, cabinets, flooring, and millwork — including clean hand drawings and cut lists you can communicate to Project Management and Engineering.
• Documenting and communicating jobsite conditions, discrepancies, and details against work orders and design specifications.
• Cutting and installing trim, including multi-step crown and coped joints.
• Assembling and installing cabinetry in the shop and onsite; prepping and installing hardware — drawer slides, hinges, knock-down fasteners, and decorative hardware.
• Installation equipment: nail guns, screw guns, levels.
• Ability to safely use ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and other jobsite equipment.
• Inspecting your own completed work for defects, misalignment, and overall quality.
• Maintaining and caring for the tools and equipment you use.

What Sets You Apart (Top of the Range)

• Setting up and running a shaper for complex work — running trim, dadoes, and machining solid wood door parts such as tenons and cope-and-stick joints.
• Running a job end to end with minimal oversight.
• Willingness to share knowledge as the team grows around you.

What We Will Teach You

Wood species. We carry over 60, and you don’t need to know them all — if you can identify the big hitters on sight and select for grain match and continuity, we will teach you the rest. We’ll also train you in our engineering, project management, and shop systems.

Schedule & Flex Time

We run flex time from day one. Most people in this role work roughly 8–4:30, but you set a schedule that works for your life — come in earlier or later, and if you have a doctor’s appointment or your kid’s game, shift your hours instead of burning time off. The one honest exception: on install and templating days, the customer’s schedule wins. If the job is in Philadelphia at 9 a.m., that’s the day — and our logistics team works with installers to plan that time fairly. We built this policy because we think punishing someone for being three minutes late is a stupid way to run a company.

Travel & Physical Requirements

• Travel during the workday will be required, depending on customer needs. Overnight travel is rare — expect a few nights per year, planned in advance.
• Company vehicles, materials, and tools are provided for all projects.
• This is physically demanding work. Much of what we build weighs over 75 lbs — expect repeated heavy lifting, with and without assistance.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with a clean driving history and English proficiency required.

A Hands-On Launchpad Into Design Engineering

The Role — Read This First

This is a deliberate career pathway, and we’ll be straight about how it works. You will spend your first 12–24 months on our manufacturing floor mastering CNC machining of solid wood: programming, setup, tooling, fixturing, and production of one-of-a-kind custom work. When you’ve achieved mastery, you will train your replacement and move into a design engineering role. How fast that happens depends on you.

You will report directly to our Director of Engineering, who will personally train you. Expectations are high and focused on your growth out of this role — we are hiring you for what you’ll become, and we expect you to work like it.

What You Must Bring Day One

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in Solidworks or comparable 3D parametric CAD, from coursework, co-ops, or personal projects.
• The ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings from day one.
• A hands-on disposition: this role lives on the shop floor, not behind a desk. Much of what we build weighs well over 75 lbs — expect physical work, including heavy lifting with and without assistance.
• Curiosity and drive to master how things are actually made.

What Sets You Apart

• Experience with Mastercam or other CAM/machining software.
• CNC machining experience — academic, co-op, or hobbyist.

We are not looking for an experienced CNC operator. We are looking for someone curious, hard-working, and hungry to learn a real skilled trade — and we will teach you the rest.

The Job

You will learn to set up and run CNC machines cutting solid wood for some of the highest-end woodwork made anywhere. You’ll start with material handling, machine loading, and basic operation, and grow into setup, tooling, fixturing, reading drawings, and over time, programming. We will train you in 3D parametric CAD such as Solidworks or Inventor as you advance. Your wage grows as your skills grow — we build our best people from the ground up and promote from within.
