Grothouse has crafted the perfect combination of art and function, Wood Countertop Integrated Bowls. Integrated Bowls offer a secure place to keep items from rolling off the countertop, for example eggs or fruit. In addition, they can be used as an artful display. You can even take it a step further and design an integrated bowl to be made into a waterproof wood sink with our Durata® Finish.

The prototype of Wood Countertop Integrated Bowls was unveiled at The 2012 House Beautiful Kitchen of the Year designed by Mick DeGiulio. This kitchen is shown in the picture below. Mick DeGiulio designed the large kitchen island for food preparation and seating. The white island cabinetry is complimented by Grothouse Wenge wood countertops with an integrated bowl.

Designing Wood Countertop Integrated Bowls

Wood Countertop Integrated Bowls can be carved into any wood specie. They can also be carved into any construction style. They are crafted custom to client specifications.

When specifying the size of your bowl, you should consider what your bowl will be used for. As stated previously, integrated bowls can be used to keep items from rolling off the countertop, an artful display, or even a sink.

The finish you choose for your wood countertop will depend on your desired use for the integrated bowl. Wood Countertops with Integrated Bowls can be finished with our Durata® Finish or The Original Oil™.

Wood Countertops by Grothouse can be crafted to include more than one special feature. The Wenge Wood Countertop designed by Mick DeGiulio for the 2012 House Beautiful Kitchen of the Year contained a Shark Tooth Mitered Corner and Integrated Bowl.
