As Grothouse celebrates 25 years in business, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what it means to reach this milestone as a manufacturer. There have been many highlights since Paul Grothouse founded the sawmill and lumber company in 1997. Many of the company’s manufacturing processes have evolved, allowing the product line to grow substantially. Our proudest moments have come from watching our team grow and our continued focus on adjusting to our customers’ needs and exceeding our clients’ expectations. Whether it’s the Walnut butcherblock being used to prepare dinner on, the White Oak floating shelves holding up family photos, or the Saxon Wood™ wet bar that’s providing the evening entertainment, it’s an honor for our wood surfaces to be welcomed into the homes and businesses of so many clients around the world.
As a provider of luxury wood surfaces, we’ve had the pleasure of manufacturing hundreds of thousands of bespoke pieces for clients’ residential and commercial spaces over the past 25 years. Throughout that time, we’ve also released a myriad of proprietary, exclusive products, including the Anvil™ Metal line, and Durata® waterproof wood Finish; both of which have largely impacted the design industry. Most recently released, Grothouse’s Pigmented Oils and Hidden Wireless Charging System hit the market in 2022 with a warm reception from consumers and industry professionals. While many things have changed over the past 25 years, some remain the same; nothing excites us more than the ability to customize a new solution or product to meet designers’ needs.
The new product releases from 2022 are prime examples of the Grothouse’s continuing focus on excellence and improvement. The Bianca and Nera Pigmented Oil Finishes give designers more customization options. The results create a flat, less-than-matte finish without a glossy appearance. Customers can use these oil finishes on more than 60 types of wood for plenty of custom looks. Meanwhile, the wireless charging system is an under-counter solution that eliminates the tangling mess of cords and cables that can clutter the counter. The hidden charging station is preinstalled into any Grothouse wood or Anvil™ surface, allowing the user to charge devices right on the countertop!

Respected interior design magazine House Beautiful has featured the company and its work in numerous issues. House Beautiful recently covered Grothouse products in its largest Whole Home project yet, an 11,000-square-foot renovation in Atlanta, Georgia. Grothouse is also proud to have been featured on television shows and networks, including HGTV, “Sell it like Serhant,” and “This Old House” on 6 seasons.
